A Letter From Our President and CEO

Dear Friends of Wellnest,

During this unprecedented coronavirus outbreak, we want to assure you we are committed to ensuring a Healthy Ready Culture for the well-being of our Wellnest friends, family and the community we serve. That means taking proactive steps to stay informed and help reduce the anxiety everyone is feeling.

We are in contact with and operating under the guidance of the Los Angeles County Departments of Public Health and Mental Health, and the Centers for Disease Prevention Control (CDC) as well as state and local leaders.

To best support our staff, children, youth and community, Wellnest will have adjusted hours at our various locations. The reason is quite simple: we are committed to the emotional well-being of our community. It is our objective to provide critically needed, impactful services, while doing our utmost to protect our employees’ health, through such innovative services as Telehealth and Telepsychiatry. You can find more information and resources at www.Wellnestla.org.

The spread of COVID-19 has been the direct source of stress for our children and youth as a result of school closures and heavy constant media coverage. This can lead to overwhelming feelings of sadness, confusion, anger, or loss. We at Wellnest are dedicated to helping children of all ages develop skills necessary to make emotionally healthy adjustments to the current crisis and daily challenges.

Whenever there is a crisis in our lives, we are reminded of the incredible power of the human spirit to overcome, persevere, and experience emotional healing. It is up to each of us to be supportive of those in need, especially our children, who are the most vulnerable. Let us continue to work together to care for our Wellnest Community.

Yours in Health,

Charlene Dimas-Peinado, LCSW, EML
President and CEO
